Leave me the miracle
A proverb, a poem, a love story.
Every miracle — three days, says an old Bulgarian proverb. It is the backbone of the novel I’m working on — a 1991 love story in a time of changes. Amidst a maze of greys and panel blocks, sitting on a blue bench on a winter’s night, Lora Voeva writes a poem.
Leave me the miracle!
Don’t take it from me!
It only lasts three days.
The first day is hope:
The world’s born anew, unseen, unheard.
The second is happiness:
I overflow with laughter and love.
The third day — the strongest:
I barely believe this happens to me.
Three days it lasts.
Don’t take it away!
The miracle has no fourth day.

Ohhhh....I love it! That third day!
